how to organize my large bookmarks lists – no solution yet

For years i am looking for a good web based bookmark tool. Found till now no solution. Currently i have a long mixture of bookmarks in mozilla, firefox, opera, this webpage – mixture of links, fantastic documentation ressources, and so on…

I didn’t find a way how to manage more than hundreds URLs i like to bookmark, check for update, keep current etc. Some years ago i used for bookmarking an offline MS window’s based tool named linkman (see http://www.outertech.com/).

Advantage was central admin of bookmarks, export to mozilla, explorer, my webpage.

Disadvantage is, that there is no automatic daily update of all my systems and a missing port to linux.

Since 2004 i switched to linux on my desktop completely, so i am missing some tools under linux: total commander, araxis merge, linkman, visio.

Perhaps i find a new solution in near future..

I know all these fine tools and the growing social bookmark pages, but i did not found the best solutions to organize about 1000 bookmarks and keep them current -

  • bookmark tool list http://www.lights.com/pickalink/bookmarks/
  • del.icio.us (A social bookmarks manager)
  • Ma.gnolia.com (Find web sites with Ma.gnolia’s social bookmarking online community. Organize bookmarks)

help me?
